The wind is a blowin' stock photo

It takes ages to get anywhere along this road; around each corner is a scene like this. The clouds blown across the face of the mountains by that cold wind from the South Pole; it feels like it’s coming right off those ice caps. Another 3 exposure taken with my Canon 7D using the trusty 17-85mm lens to capture the scene. It was pretty blustery on this day; a tripod was an absolute must! Photomatix Pro was used to process the image but most of the work was done in Photoshop with Nik Software Color Efex Pro. I used “Tonal Contrast” to slightly boost the foreground, then a Graduated Neutral Density filter on the sky with Glamour Glow painted-in at the end. Its pretty rare for me to apply a filter or treatment across the whole image, rather I’ll mask-in just the parts I want. From my blog at www.stewartbaird.com Follow me on Twitter
