Just off 95'th in Lafayette near Indian Peaks in Lafayette, Colorado. That's Long's Peak dusted with snow, over 14,000 feet above sea level, in the background. This is an enhanced version of www.flickr.com/photos/question_everything/4190932167/. I'm not sure which is best. It's scenes like this that I love about Colorado, although I do miss the ocean. I believe the windmill is actually a water pump but I'm not sure where I got that idea. These old water pump windmills are being replaced by wind turbines attached to the electricty grid. Colorado has wind so wind farms are popping up.... Apologies to Bob Dylan (my all time favorite) for using and abusing his lyric from Blowin' in the Wind. The answer, of course, is power, electrical power. This windmill from the past suggest a windmill of the future.
